When / Where / How to Practice
Wait for 1 sec – reward
Wait for 2 secs – reward
Wait while you turn away in one direction, then back towards your dog and reward
Wait while you do a full turn on the spot – reward
Build duration gradually, doing shorter waits amongst longer ones so it isn’t continually more difficult for your dog
Finish all waits with ‘ok go’ release cue – roll treat away from you while giving release cue. Try to get several rewards to your dog before releasing them.
